LAWN REPAIR

If your lawn is full of dead spots, brown patch, insect or frost damage, and you’re thinking “self, I have absolutely no idea how to fix my lawn”, we can help with that!  We specialize in lawn restoration and lawn renvoation services including dethatching, aerating, leveling, fertilizing and weed control, as well as overseeding and/or reseeding.

DETHATCHING

Dethatching, sometimes called a power rake, is a process where we comb out and pull out all of the extra buildup at the lawn crown.  Excess thatch doesn’t allow critical moisture and nutrients down to the roots of the grass, as well as providing a breeding ground for weeds, moss, disease and pest problems to flourish in.  Here in the PNW, our cool season grass tends to build up thatch more so than grasses in warmer climates and is necessary to perform every 1-3 years for optimal lawn health.  If your lawn is very quick to dry out and become dormant in hot weather, or you’re plagued by disease, bald patches, weeds or insect infestations in your lawn, you may be ready for a dethatch service.

What is Aeration?

Aeration

Aeration is the process of mechanically punching holes into your lawn.  If you’ve got persistently wet areas or standing water that won’t drain after heavy rain, a lawn that feels spongy when walked on, or newer construction that was heavily compacted during building, aeration may be necessary to rehabilitate your lawn.

OVERSEEDING & RESEEDING

After turf repair services are performed, lawns will often have a patchy and thin appearance. To create a fuller, thicker, more robust lawn, overseeding or reseeding is necessary. Before we lay down seed, we top with a special turf topcoat that is a mix of sand and compost, to add crucial drainage as well as feeding vital nutrients back into the soil, no synthetic fertilizers required. We always seed with premium cool weather grass seed mixes that are designed to thrive in our temperate PNW climate. For added protection, moisture retention and optimal germination we top the seed with compost, topsoil and/or peat moss.
